So, you're considering or have decided to enter the world of rebuildable atomizers. Here we'll try to give you everything you need to know to reconstruct a straightforward 1.2 ohms single micro coil and.6 ohms dual micro coils to your RDA. Before getting started there are certain dangers associated with short circuits in almost any electrical apparatus as such please follow the steps in this manual to ensure you're building coils and vaping safely.
1. Everything you'll need To create Coils:
If you don't have an ohms reader please do not try to build your coils. Now you have all the equipment that you want before you begin wrapping coils. You will want to determine how many laps your coil will have to need to achieve the desired resistance. To do this there are a variety of tools out there. For this particular tutorial that our 1.2-ohm single coil will probably need 8 complete packs. Oxidize the Wire First, you may wish to cut a sheet of your Kanthal resistance cable. Although 3 inches is likely enough it's often easier for novices to have a little extra to hold so cut on a 4-5 inch piece of cable. Then hold the end of your wire with your tweezers, pliers, forceps, etc. Light your torch and heat the Kanthal wire at one end until it glows orange then gradually move the flashlight down the whole piece of wire. Give your wire a moment to cool then catch the opposite end of the cable and replicate. Oxidizing the wire will make it "springy" and easier to work with. 3. Wrapping Your Coil You may need your tweezers, little blue screwdriver, and your cable for this part. You would like your cable to be on top of this screwdriver near its handle. Hold the end of the wire nearest the screwdriver firmly with your thumb. Then will begin wrapping your cable around the screwdriver until you achieve our goal of 8 wraps. Do very best to keep the coils as close to one another as possible with no overlapping. It's important to attempt and keep the cord tight through the process to eliminate as much slack as possible. Once you have made your 8 wraps both leads should be facing the same direction. Double-check your number of wraps by counting them onto the face of the coil that is reverse of the leads. Make sure that your amps have 8 wraps and can hold one lead firmly with fingers and pull on the other lead with your tweezers or pliers then repeat with another lead. This is to remove any additional slack your coil may have. Wrapping Your Coil Using a Kuro Coiler We will utilize the 2mm Kuro Coiler here. First, insert the wire into the hole 1 to the face of the handle leaving roughly 1/2" of cable sticking out in the hole in the handle. Hold the end of the wire against the grip so it can't slide back out. Set the top leaning bit on into the shaft together with the pin towards the handle. Turn the top tipping piece slowly so it catches the wire and begins wrapping. Excessive pressure will cause the cable to wrap around itself. Once you've got 8 pliers eliminate the top winding piece and straighten the wire that sticks through the hole in the handle. Adjust or straighten the leads as needed then remove the coil from Kuro Coilers rotating shaft and slide it on to your small blue screwdriver for installation. 4. Installing Your Coil Take the build deck of your RDA and loosen up the post screws most of the way. Do not try to eliminate the screws because they're easy to lose and difficult to put back in when hands are already full. Choose your coil and place one lead in a favorable post gap and the other in your negative post. Once you have it positioned you can tighten your pole screws. Be cautious to not over tighten or you might cut the wire inside the post and have to generate a fresh coil. Once the coil is mounted securely trim the leads as close to the posts as possible. 5. Testing Your Coil For Shorts Next, choose your RDA and screw it on to the ohms reader and then turn it on to be certain the new coil onto your RDA doesn't have a short. It should measure close to the target resistance of 1.2 ohms. However, it's crucial to remember it is quite common and normal for coils to have a slight variance in resistance of up to .2ohms. When the coil is exhibited the appropriate resistance within .2ohms you're prepared to proceed to another step. However, if the ohms reader is not reading the coil or even displays a resistance over.2 ohms different than the targeted resistance there is a problem that has to be fixed. Usually, issues are easily fixed. Check RDA's pole screws are tight. Check your coils positioning to make sure it isn't touching the deck or posts. Be sure your atomizer is screwed completely into the ohms reader. If these actions corrected your problem you're prepared to move on to the next step. If these measures did not correct your problem try making another coil. Should you continue to have an issue there may be a problem with your atomizer or with your ohms reader. 6. Test Firing Your Coil and Eliminating Hot Spots The coil is set up correctly and there are no shorts, you're prepared to set your RDA on for your mod. As soon as the RDA is installed onto mod then fire mod until the coil begins to glow. Once the coils start to glow stop firing mod and lightly squeeze the coil together with tweezers. Repeat this process until the coil shines evenly beginning from the center moving towards the outer wraps. 7. Wicking Your Coil There are many things you can utilize to wick your coil, organic cotton, silica wick, eco-wool are all very popular for different reasons and utilizations. With this purpose, prefer organic cotton because of its exceptional flavor and wicking abilities. A piece of material just large enough to snugly fit inside your coil leaving about half an inch on both sides. On the other hand, in case your wick is sliding loosely inside the coil there is not enough material. Once your wicks are trimmed, wet them with a couple of drops of Vape Juice and fold them on to the RDA deck paying mind not to push them underneath the coil so air can reach the whole coil. 8. Test it again! It's important to recheck your RDA post screws tight. Then recheck your resistance on an ohmmeter. Take note it's likely your resistance might have changed slightly +/.2ohms but that is normal. If everything checks out you are ready to move on to the next step. If there's a problem you will need to recheck everything working your way backward until you discover the problem. 9. Vape and Enjoy! Saturate your wicks along with your favorite Vape Juice, replace your RDA's cap, vape, and enjoy!
